Pain relief..

Hiya..

I was diagnosed via lap a few yrs ago, I've had two laps and six months of prostap injections.

The last lot of injections would have taken me to December last year.. From February this year, the pain started to come back and has gotten progressively worse.

I have been taking prescription Co-codamol for over two years for the pain related to the endo.

I've just ran out of pain killers and have rang the Dr for more but they need me to go in to see them, which is obviously fine as so many become addicted to codeine based drugs.. I must admit I am in agony but can't do anything until Monday, as long as I can get in the phone queue quick enough!

So I was looking into treatments and have seen about pain clinics and anti depressants.

What does everyone else do about the pain?

I see the consultant next month, but from our last conversation, it seems its pretty much lap followed by six months prostap in a cycle til I reach menopause when he'll do a full hysterectomy.

Thanks in advance

Hello

Best to talk to your Dr as depending on what strength your on they may be able to adjust this, also suggest something that can be taken along side it to help. I take a mixture of codeine, paracetamol and anti inflammatorys to get the best results as prescribed by my Dr.

As for pain clinics etc I don't have any experience in this so can't suggest but if your interested at your consultant appointment bring this up and see what they say

Thanks for your reply..

I saw a Dr last night, she wasn't terribly helpful, she told me that the pain cannot possibly be endometriosis as if it was I'd only have pain during my period.

She refused pain clinic as she said there are still options they could try, such as tramadol or morphine patches but wouldn't give me either.. Very much looking forward to my consultant appointment in August!

Thanks

Yes try raising it with your consultant. Out of interest what dosage of codeine do you take and what do you take with it?

I take 6 x 30mg codeine 500mg paracetamol per day and naproxen on top when needed.. I also have some pure codeine tablets that are 15mg each so sometimes have to take an extra of that but try not to

Okay, I can kind of understand why your Dr didn't give you things like morphine to try as you're not on the max dose of what you take yet. And it's quite a jump to go from codeine to one of the others.

From my experience they only jump up to the next thing once you are on the max dose and have tried different concoctions to get the most out of it. As the side effects can be alot more potent when you go up to the next level of pain killers.

Hi

I am 45 now and have been told i have endo but have had two laps and they cant find it even though it was with a general gynae not a specialist in endo... i was offered to b put on a waiting list to see a endo specialist but i decided im not doin it anymore...

Im fed up of being poked and prodded and more people peering in places then is deemed appropriate😂 so about 3 years ago i decided to approach my health as a whole as i have a few issues... Ie EDS .

So i thought right what is wrong with my body it is inflammed, my joint are as thats the EDS so prob everything is.. ive had trouble with ibs and i just thought “ right lets deal with the inflammation in my body” went to see a naturopath and a gastro to see about a anti imflammatory diet..

So i now do not eat gluten and dairy! Within 2 months i noticed everything got better.

I started taking probiotics( good ones) which again put good bacteria into stomach and body.

I started to do yoga and pilates ...

Then i went to amsterdam

And decided to buy some good CBD OIL which had been recommended to me by alot of people but to get a good one it not cheap and it has to b good! And a high mg.

so now 3 years down line...

I am 2 stone lighter, not eaten gluten or dairy since.

My periods have changed DRAMATICALLY! Ie there a pain but not lay on floor crying pain.

There lighter. My ibs has gone!

I also suggest u may want to try a good osteo once a month.. they can loosen all ur lower back and pelvis and groin as u could b holding tension in this area ..

I go once every 6 months and again i couldnt do without it...

So there are things u can do but it is a life change.

I do not take any painkillers anymore!

I used to take tramadol , cocodamol, naproxen and trans acid. Now nothing.
