Lap wait time in South West UK?

Hi friends, just wondering if anyone knows what the wait times are looking like for a laparoscopy in my area on the NHS Specifically I'm in Swindon. I was put on the waiting list yesterday but will have to wait two weeks to find out how long, And I'm so worried about it! I like to plan ahead haha.

It really depends on how busy they are and how many specialists there are.

Averages generally are a few months which is rubbish I'm in Gloucester, and my NHS appointment for a general gynae came through two months after I'd seen a private specialist and had my diagnostic lap with excision of endo! So I would have waited three months just to see someone.

Thank you!! Gosh that is a long time to wait I'm considering asking to be put on the cancellation list, since I'm self employed and need no notice!

Hey farahziya, do you mind me asking which private specialist you saw?? I am looking for a specialist in this area who does excision, alot just do ablation but I'm potentially looking for excision! Thank you x

I live in mid glamorgan and booked my lap in October and had it in March! Deffo keep checking for cancellations ect!😊 good luck!

I had my lap done at GWH Swindon and it probably took about 6 months for me to get a date. I had the lap confirmed in September but wasn’t given a date until middle of March the following year and the actual date was 31st March, which wasn’t a lot of notice.

Hey, just stumbled across your post as I posted something similar, do you mind me asking if you have seen anyone yet and if so who and your experience? I'm based in swindon and looking for a specialist who practices excision and also has multidisciplinary on hand for any bowel/diaphragm issues! Thanks x
