MRI wait time

At my consultation it was decided I needed an MRI first than I would get booked in for the lap.

I was just wondering how long you have had to wait in the past for the MRI, I'm at Oxford?

Hi, if you mean at the John Radcliffe at Oxford I waited 2weeks, and I got my results a week after that. That was Jan this year.

Hi

I am being treated at JR in Oxford to and have my lap Tomo.

I had my MRI really quickly was about 17 days after my initial appointment as there was a last minute cancellation. My lap on the other hand was a long wait I have ended up luckily again having mine earlier than they first told me as I am in so much pain my GP had written to them and I also complained.

My word of advice about JR is that yes it's an amazing hospital and I can't fault the treatment I have had so far but for this reason it's super busy but just keep chasing them. If you want any more info then please ask.

How long did it take for your letter to come through for the appointment? It's been 2 weeks and I haven't had a letter yet.

The lady said the wait for the lap is about 8 weeks, so I'm guessing this is wrong!

What number did you call to chase the hospital?

I did not get my letter till mid Jan for my lap Tomo and my intial appointment was in Nov. When I intially chased i was told I would have to wait till end of April.

If you go on to JR website and search patient liaison team the email address I used to chase is on there.

I chased up my MRI today and that's not till end of March.
