Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone knows roughly what the wait time for a lap is? I had my first gynae specialist appointment the other day and they are putting me on the waiting list, might be a bit of a stupid question as i’m sure it’s different for different areas of the UK, but if anyone could share their experiences of wait times that would be great!xx
Laparoscopy wait time: Hi everyone! Just... - Endometriosis UK
Laparoscopy wait time
hi hun atm in the uk it’s around 18 months x
I have mine on Monday, I've been waiting since last September xx
Hello,
I think wait times massively vary depending your area. I live in Essex and was told I would have to wait for up to a year but I was really lucky and ended up having my procedure about 6 months after my initial appointment. X
I was told a year
Hi, your right it will depend where you are as everywhere is a bit different but it's fair to say on average that waiting times are long. I'm in Lincolnshire and was waiting over a year to have mine. You could always call the department and ask what your position position on the waiting list is and what to expect. Also if your able to it could be worth saying you can accept cancellation slots as they might offer you an early/last minute cancellation slot x
I saw my consultant for the first time in May and asked how long, he said 'you've seen the news, so you'll know how long waiting lists are'. I was fully expecting it to be 18 months but I got a notification through on my NHS app asking if I would take last minute apps and I said yes. I now have it at the end of August. I am in Hampshire
Manchester - 18 months from initial referral to endo team
Here in Sw it’s said to be 18mths but reality it’s longer.
I was referred in may 2023, saw consultant in April 2024 and am told it'll be November 2024. Horrible waiting as pain is now daily 🫠🫠 I'm in Hampshire.
