I have my second laparoscopy next week, the first time I was given oramorph to take home thankfully because I was in SO much pain. I'm getting so anxious that they won't give me enough painkillers to take home If they don't would the doctor prescribe something at my local surgery?
Also, has anyone taken anything before hand to calm their nerves?? Last time I was a mess but wasn't offered a sedative or anything!!
Thanks xx

Hi! Ask ahead for something to calm you, my friend is an unlucky soul and has various surgeries for various reasons and she's always a nervous wreck. They gave her something to take before arriving hospital.
As for the painkillers, when I ran out my GP was able to give me another prescription because I had handed in a letter from the hospital stating what was done, what I had been prescribed etc.
Hey! Oh really? I need to try and get in to my doctors beforehand then, which may be a little difficult, especially as I dont want to take any more time off work before I go in next week
Thats great info though, thank you for your help xx
