Bad Cramps

Hi, I'm on Norethisterone while waiting for a date for my mirena coil to be re fitted. I'm experiencing bad cramps around the time my period would be due, has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Spaniel,

I think this is a side effect of the medication you take. I am on Primolut n and have the same issue as yours.

Yep! With annoying stomach gas as well. 😖 (sorry for TMI)

Makes me feel better knowing it's not just me! I'm also on iron tablets at the moment which is not great either x

Yeah, those artificial hormones tablets are not that nice actually. x

I had this! I was so upset by it thinking it would prevent me from feeling that way. However I also experienced the bleeding too

I had such heavy bleeding due to the coil falling out that's why I'm on the tablets but wasn't expecting the cramps etc!

Mirena?? What’s your experience with it? Is it working well for you? Before it fell out I mean! Are you okay?

Unfortunately it wasnt in long enough for me to tell. They fitted it at the same time as my Laparoscopy, I had alot of post OP bleeding which they think expelled it. But my sister who also has endo had a mirena fitted 2 years ago and thinks it is brilliant. Periods stopped completely made things much better for her. The only side effect she has is Migraine, always suffered from them but can be worse now. She has medication to ease the symptoms though.
