Can you have laparoscopy while on period
Hello!
You can still have a lap on your period. I put disposable knickers and a pad on however just to make you aware that I did wake up and these had been removed and a large mat had been placed underneath me instead xx
I was on my period during my surgery too. During the pre-op discussion with a nurse, where they got me to sign a few documents, made sure I didn’t have nail polish or jewellery on etc., I let her know I was on my period. She told me to keep on my underwear with a pad instead of wearing the paper underwear that is standard procedure. They removed my underwear after I was under the general anaesthesia and I woke up with a hospital pad placed between my legs but no underwear! I think that’s what they give people after they’ve given birth.
Anyways, it was not a problem at all and all the doctors and nurses are super understanding. Good luck with your surgery!! Xx
As the girls have said below - It’s fine. I was on day 1 or 2 of my period and although a lap isn’t the ideal thing to go through, the remainder of my period was very light and painless compared to normal.
Good luck with it xx
