Have a suspected UTI. Has anyone been on antibiotics before surgery? I wanted to ideally be pill free before Monday but If I need to take some then so be it. Been told it’s ok.. but I have anxiety and scared about taking anything xx

Hi, i was on antibiotics for a week prior to my lap hysterectomy and all was fine. You generally get given some furing surhery anyway to head off any chance of infection. Best of luck with your op xx

I was antibiotics for a sinus infection a week before surgery as instructed by my GP so I didn’t have an infection before surgery because that would be worse.

If it puts your mind at rest contact the hospital; sure it’s fine it’s meds like blood thinners they need you to stop before surgery due to blood loss risk. xoxo

Thank you, I’m on antibiotics although my urine sample was clear as a preaution.

I’m feeling so run down with the stress and anxiety of it all 😢 xx
