When is enough , enough?

I'm currently sitting on my sofa in pain and bleeding. The very pill that is supposed to be helping me is causing me more pelvic pain and now bleeding. I am on cerazette for dysfunctional bleeding. I was duagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease in dec 2015 and have been suffering ever since. I live with chronic pelvic pain which must days I can manage without pain relief but on cerazette I have been on pain killers every day and started bleeding 3 days ago. My dream of having a baby is farther and farther away. I jyst want my quality of life back to enjoy my family and friends and I cannot even do that right now. My options to control bleeding are running out. Been on prostap but bad side effects. Combi pill I get migraines. Last resort would be a hysterectomy and then no chance of a baby ever. How long do i give the cerazette can anyone share any other options medicinal or natural alternative please. Thanks so much for reading and replying x

I’m so sorry. What painkillers are you taking? I don’t know about natural remedies.

It’s interesting you’re on cerazette. I saw my gyno today (the one I had a not-so-good email exchange with) and we discussed taking cerazette as an alternative to decapeptyl. He said he thought cerazette was fairly ineffective and can cause irregular bleeding which wouldn’t help my endo. I can’t take the combined pill due to a condition I had in pregnancy, and the depo injection gave me daily bleeding for 18 months. So cerazette was one of my only options - he said he didn’t really recommend.

Perhaps there is an alternative for you? Have you tried the mirena coil?

Big hugs x

Thanks for your reply. I can't have mirena or coil due to high risk of reinfection of PID so I am stuck with pills. Did your gyne recommend another mini pill at all?

No.... he recommended I stick with decapeptyl after saying he had never come across anyone with such a strong adverse reaction and I’ve had! I think he must have shares in the drug. He has just prescribed pregabalin instead.

He said my options were cerazette, mirena or the implant.

Could the implant work? Do you have a helpful gynae?

I would say persevere with the combination pill. Try different brands , triadene is working for me at the moment , it's quite an unusual one ! I tried lots and this one has no side effects. Periods are quite painful still but bleeding is much less

I was told it takes 3 months for your body to adjust to a new pill. I was put on Yasmin after surgery and I took it back to back. It took 4 months back to back to stop bleeding but now when I come off it to have my period it stops bleeding as soon as I go back on it. Unfortunately it's a lot of trial and error, I hope you find something that works soon xx

Thank you for your replies. My doc has told me to double dosage on the mini pill so will see what happens. x
