Hip Pain & anxiety

Hi,

Just wondering who else has hip pain. I've been getting treatment for the last 6 months for bilateral hip bursitis but after an mri last week I have found today it's not that. In fact my physio said they can't see anything on my hip or spine, nothing that indicates anything wrong at all. She said it was "great news" but I am still in a lot of pain and feel like I am now back to the beginning again.

I've also recently had a full blood test done but she said they haven't done my CA, so I have to go back for another one to check that the pain isn't because of muscle breakdown caused by simvistatin which I take for Familial hypercholesterolemia.

I have my first gynecologist appointment in around 3 weeks as the doctors think I may have endometriosis, but Im so anxious they will not take the hip pain seriously.

I feel so anxious, I've been sat here all afternoon on the verge of having a panic attack because I can't believe that I don't have bursitis. I even had 2 steroid injections in my hips because they were so certain that's what the pain was.

The pain runs down both of my hips, is terrible at night and sears down my leg when I roll onto the other side. It's so painful, it wakes me up and I have had it for 2 years now. Is there anyone else who recognises this as a symptom and have you managed to get anywhere with gynaecologist taking it seriously?

I was diagnosed by laparoscopy last year and constant hip pain is one of my most prominent symptoms. I tell my gynaecologist the pain is like my hips have been broken and I'm sat in the cold! He is an endo specialist and didn't seem surprised by that. I also get leg pain but not as often.

I do a lot of hip releasing stretches every day as working in an office all day really makes me ache more. Stretches definitely help me, that and tramadol!

Stretches may be worth a go though ! Take care xx

hi.hope you are feeling ok today.

o had terrible hip pain I called it the gremlins as it felt like something was being screwed very slowly into my hip bones and the pain would go down my thighs and into my back.

the bsge specialist I saw said it was a common symptom he saw regularly of endometriosis. I was put on amitfipyline which reduced the pain and tramadol.

it did turn out I had stage 4 endometriosis but the MRI scan was clear.

ask to be referred to the pain team for help with pain management.

Sounds very similar to my woes. Hip and waist pain is my prominent symptom and is most severe in the early hours after lying down for more than 2 hours. I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis last year during a hysterectomy. I am due to have further surgery this spring to remove RV nodules and bowel resection. I wonder if ligaments are involved too.

Hope this helps guide you.
