Appendix and colon abnormalities. Endo?

4 months post hysterectomy, I found a painful lump on my lower right abdomen. I had a ct scan to reveal it was scar tissue. They also saw abnormalities on my appendix and secum (part of the colon). The appendix wall looked enlarged. They are removing my appendix and part of the colon next week. I'm praying it is all endo and not cancer. The report from my hysterectomy showed endo on my colon. Anyone show endo on their appendix and colon?

Hiya,

I had my appendix removed 2 years ago because I was in such acute pain & ended up being in hospital for a week afterwards but that was just due to complications in surgery, I found out last year after going to my GP with constant abdominal & pelvic pain that the pathology report had show that it was endo that caused my appendix to be so grotty (one of the doctor's words not mind haha). I hope that your surgery goes well & you get some relief. I'm here if you need a chat :)

Hey I know this post is somewhat old, but I’m going through something similar. What were your symptoms? Just the pain?

When you had your hysterectomy was your endometriosis not excised? Were you at a BSGE centre?

I have endo on my colon. My next surgery will be with a colorectal surgeon present to deal with it. I don't have horrendous bowel symptoms, but lots of bloating. Xxx

The OB doctor tried to get all the endo out of my reproductive system as he could. I'm thinking that it must have attached itself to the appendix and colon. I don't think he would have addressed it on those organs though. He had me stay on birth control to try to control any endo that may still be out there. Were they able to tell it was endo from the ctscan? My doctor said he isn't sure what it is but something showed up on the ctscan. He said he won't be able to say if it is endo or cancer until he gets in there.

I know my colon is affected from both a laparoscopy and a MRI. But I don't think the scan would be absolutely conclusive if I hadn't already had the lap. I hope your surgery goes well and that it is endo and not cancer xxx
