hi I received a message on here someone claiming it be millionaire frances connolly and how she’s giving health unlocked members £250000 towards them .. this is definitely a scam? Anyone else had this

haha yeah I got this too, I replied saying this sounds an awful lot like a scam and they just replied ‘really?’ 😂 definitely a scam. Shame I’m sure we could’ve all done with 2.5 mil 😂

Hi there. I work in cyber so can put your mind at rest that opening the message itself won’t have any impact. I think from memory there was a link in the message - if you clicked that then there is a danger that your location information is shared, you are directed to a dodgy website and asked to share further info about yourself, or more sophisticated phish attempts can install malware on your machine. For anyone that did click the link - it’s a good idea to run an antivirus scan, or if accessing on a work device let your IT team know.

My day job is cybersecurity so I reported it straight away as it’s definitely phishing. Best rule to apply is if it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is. Always err on the side of caution in being suspicious! 😀
