My endometriosis is mostly right sided, so whilst trying to find out what was wrong with me and my right sided pain I’ve had appendix mentioned along the way and appendicitis which was never the case it was endo. My endo is mostly on my bladder.currently on zolodex injections to shrink everything and during my lap in October there was no worries or mention of my appendix being effected by this. However I am slightly worried. I see a few posts in regards to this but mostly that drs thought it was appendix pain and in fact it was endometriosis and ovary pain. Can’t constantly live In fear but currently feel that way

Appendix fears with endo
The abdomen is an odd place!
Pain originating in areas can feel like they come directly from there and pain originating in another area can feel like it's somewhere else, that's due to the nerves / the fact that at one point everything went through the umbilicus (belly button) / the fatty thin layer of peritoneum that covers all our organs in our abdomen. The thin layer "wraps" itself around organs that are irritated, infected or inflamed to protect all the other vital organs and give the organ a cushion to heal in. That's why sometimes pain may feel "associated" like it's from a different organ, hence doctors often misdiagnose endo as appendicitis. Ovulation pain can also present the same way called mittelschmerz (German for middle pain).
I think with appendicitis it is supposed to get worse quickly, resulting in an A&E appointment. Let's hope it's not that. Docs can check for an enlarged appendix with an ultrasound or mri, that's a possibility.
Hope whatever it is, it's not too bad xx
Should of mentioned no pain right now I’m fine lol, but when I do get the flares it’s right sided they thought it was my appendix for ages but turned out to be endo
Just all created a huge appendix anxiety in terms of general fears of it happening
Doctors mistook my endo pain for possible appendicitis in Jan. The pain was so intense and so bad, codeine didn’t touch it, I had to have morphine. But a scan and a gynae appt the same week confirmed nothing to do with appendix. I’ve had two types of endo pain, this crippling kind, and a nagging, dragging, period type of ache. Both yuck.
I was taking into hospital with suspected appendicitis, at which point they found small uterine fibroids, which were a new addition to the PCOS which I've had since the age of 12 (1997) and endometriosis (since 2016). I have had another laparoscopy and had the endometriosis of the right pelvic wall, right ovary and POD removed with diatherymy. I was noted to have appendiceal tethering have no idea if this is to do with the endometriosis or if this is due to the supsected appendicitis. Plan was to be referred onto Gastro for colonscopy and to have endometriosis of the bowel ruled out but now wondering do I have to go to a General Surgeon for the appendiceal tethering. Wish there was one Surgeon who could just deal with it all. Not sure which route to go, still have four weeks until post-op follow-up. I've taken so much time off work I really need to move this on but not sure where to go?
