I've been told I'm starting prostap injections in the next couple of weeks, and I'm scared, I'm worried about the symptoms. My periods are awful, saw gyne and had a laparoscopy and they couldn't find any endometriosis but that I could have adenmyosis, I had never heard of this until the consultatant had said it and he didn't explain it to me just said it could be this and we need to try prostap before we go down anymore routes.
Hi. I had my first injection on 2june and having another next week. I was told I had to have it or the operation they did on 31 May would have been a waste of time as it turns out my endometriosis is far worse than expected and a frozen pelvis just for good measure!! Prior to the surgery I was in constant pain and was regularly admitted to hospital during my period. The operation has reduced my pain and I've been very lucky so far that I've had no side affects of the prostap other than a withdrawal bleed which was pain free. I did look into it after I'd had the first jab and spooked myself with it all but it's been fine with me so far.
Good luck, I hope it helps and you get answers soon.
Thank you that has been more help then the doctors have been, was told that if I don't try these I can't be referred to gyne as well, hope you get yours sorted and hope the injections keep being nice to you
After I had a smear as hot cin grade 1 I see a consultant for that it was so painful I couldn't be examined properly I was in orbit for pain, he wrote to gp suggesting I go on that before being re-referred
