I've recently been prescribed 10mg oramorph and it seems to make me very drowsy - anyone else have this? Thanks in advance!

Anyone else get really drowsy on oramorph?

Hey sweet
I too have oramorph, it does make me verrry drowsy, it's a very strong painkiller so it's bound to. I try to only take my oramorph when nothing else is working, I'm usually on x2 paracetamol & 30mg of codeine & hot water bottle xxx
I used to take oramorph when my pain became unbearable and in between taking 2 x 30 mg of Codeine. It made me very drowsy and as such I mostly took at night time or if I'm at home and know I'm not going to be driving. I've stopped taking it now as it started to make me feel sick.
I have oramorph when nothing else will work and I'm basically bed bound with the pain.
It makes me super drowsy but not asleep. For example, I have my eyes closed, can't open my eyes, move, speak but I'm still aware of everything that's going on around me. Which is quite scary.
It also makes me very nauseous so I take cyclizine alongside it. It takes the edge off.
Take care of yourself 😘
Hey hun, how long have you had endo?
I'm so sorry you are bed bound with the pain! I was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis 2 years ago. I had excision surgery in may last year and had Mirena fitted at the same time and none of them have helped. They have made my symptoms worse. I am now on Prostap 3 monthly injections, and doctors are sending me for an MRI scan. It scares me so much of becoming bed bound with this horrid disease. I'm currently not working, i will be starting an apprenticeship this month doing my dream job but i am dreading it as when i last worked i struggled to concentrate, i was flaring up alot more, tiredness was getting the better of me and i feel a lot worse now and that was only in October. I'm so worried because i just feel as though my body cannot take working! Such a shame i couldn't get a job working from home! xxx
Thanks everyone. I was prescribed it for endo pain and I've just had my first period after laparoscopy which has been one of the most painful ever! Used oramorph in the evening to help me get a good night sleep but still feel super drowsy the next morning and struggle to stay awake rather than just drifting back to sleep!
