Back pain, anyone else? : Hi ladies, does... - Endometriosis UK
Back pain, anyone else?
Ha ha we meet again, and once again I get this. Chronic lower back pain but randomly get a pressure type backache in the middle. I’m faulty from my ribcage down to my knees 😂 xx
I have a problem with my back anyway so I assumed that why was I got worse/spreading pains but I guess it's not just me then...I can totally relate to the pain/pressure feeling in the middle of your back!
I only ever see people mention lower back pain so started to think it was unrelated to endo but maybe not x
Hi Everyone , I get lower back pain , that spreads into my groin and right down my legs, some days it’s like a shooting pain and I find it difficult to walk as if maybe it’s aggrivating a nerve , other days it’s pain and burning sensation in my pelvis , and this may sound odd and I don’t know if anybody else gets it , but sometimes my back pain spreads up towards my shoulder Tip , oh the joys of Endometriosis ! 😣x
Yeah that’s what I thought , that maybe the inflammation around the nerves in my back send the pain up to my shoulder and down to my toes sometimes , xx
Yep - lots of lower back pain - during ovulation (and afterwards) and during my period.
I get it from my top of my bottom to about half way up my back if that helps xx
Thanks hun I wasn't going to mention it to the specialist as mainly see people with lower back pain (which I do have) but it spreads into the middle of my back too which I thought was unrelated but maybe not xx
Hey... I started to notice my middle lower back pain ever since I had my endometriosis my pain get worst when my period is due the next day .
Wow. This is great to here as like you say, we only hear about lower back pain. I have had MRIs, physio, ultrasound therapy, Bowen, CBT (in case it was stress related) regarding my mid back pain which I’ve had for four years. Nothing has improved it. It is there everyday in a morning. And worse at different times of the Month. It has only recently dawned on me that it could be related to endometriosis which I’m waiting to see a gynaecologist about. I’ve had a laparoscopy 15 years ago but the symptoms never went away and have recently become so bad I’ve seen a GP about it again. My arms and my legs are the only things that seem ok 😬 Getting more and more headaches too. Wondering what is related to what and desperate for answers. Now worried that a general gynaecologist is not going to be good enough.
I get bad pressure headaches too, starting about a week before my period until a few days after. Not sure if headaches are a symptom though? Had crippling ones for around a year now but gp is useless. I saw a general gynaecologist last year who immediately dismissed me when I mentioned endo as did my gp, took over a year of going back to my gp until I asked to see a different doctor who finally referred me to an endo specialist
Same here! My previous GYNO would roll her eyes whenever I asked her a question. She refused to do a diagnostic laparoscopy or refer me to a specialist. She kept telling me to just take pills for the symptoms and even recommended Orilissa (Endo medication which causes menopause-like symptoms). She got upset with me when I stated that I didn't want to take medication yet and would prefer to get an accurate diagnosis before starting treatment. I moved across the country and got a new GYNO who referred me to an Endo specialist. She just completed my laparoscopy this November and I got a confirmation and excision of endometriosis. SO happy I advocated for myself and found someone who would listen! And yes- the back pain is real! 😝
It’s really difficult to work out what is related to Endo. I get aching ribs too. Don’t know if that means anything either. When we are already struggling to get anywhere diagnosing Endo it’s then even more difficult to treat symptoms that may/may not be related. Im thinking a general gynaecologist is going to be a waste of time but don’t feel confident to ask to see anyone more specialist when I don’t know for definite what it is. You waiting for a laparoscopy now?
Lincolnshire. I know. I could have pain in my toes and it could be related to Endo according to everything on google ☺️
I always have a dull ache in my back but it worsens near my period - the physio said it may be where the pelvis ligaments loosen?
I get severe back ache that goes into my legs, and it's constant (day and night). I'm in so much pain that I can't turn over in bed, put my jeans or my boots in the morning (my hubby has to help). My problems all started with pelvis pain and pain in my right side (under my arm) and through middle of my back. Before I found out that I had severe endo (in January) I had a whole lot of tests done that I paid for privately, including gall bladder tests, ultra sounds, endoscopy etc (you name it) and I got no where with it all. In the end they diagnosed me with CFS/ME (3 years ago). However, since other symptoms appeared in September last year, I saw a gyn consultant who suspected something else was wrong and I had a lapo, where they diagnosed me with sever Endo. Looks like all these pains 3 years ago were to do with the endo all along. So it could well be that all your other aches and pains are related. The consultant said that there's not much he can do about the pain in my right side and through back, and they're not serious. But if you're concerned about any other aches and pains then it might be worth mentioning to your Consultant/ Doctor, just for some reassurance. I think you get all sorts of other aches and pains from all the inflammation in the body, which might be why we're all suffering in different ways. It's a horrible thing to have, and my heart goes out to you all. There are certain diets that can really help wit the inflammation too. The one I did was the GAPS diet. It made such a difference to me. It's quite a regimented diet, but it does make a whole lot of difference if you can stick with it and you will feel a difference after a couple of weeks on it. I hope that helps. x
