Lump where my scar is?

Hello ladies. I had a diagnostic laparoscopy on the 10th of October however I looked down at my incision scar a minute ago and I've noticed there is a lump in the area, is this normal?

hello where they stitched you up yes i had it in my belly button i saw it i hated it i cryed for days but its just swelling it should go down after 2 months mine did just keep it clean as possible use just water or else it will get infected like mine did as did not get cleaning instructions.

I had what looked like lumps where my incision scars were and it turned out to be the stitches pulling up my skin. As soon as they took the stitches out 2 weeks after the lap my skin smoothed out. They are supposed to be dissolvable stitches but they don't always dissolve. I realise it's been over a month since your op so maybe I'm wrong. Does it look like the stitches are still there? Mine were taken out at my follow up appointment with my consultant but I believe they can be removed at the local GP surgery. They were easy to remove. I might be wrong about this as I am not a doctor so best to go to the GP anyway to see what it is. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your replies. I'm not sure if it's the stitches or not. Only reason being is the area where I was cut had scabbed over with a piece of what looked like white cotton dangling out of it. These both dropped off a few weeks ago, so would the stitches be internal? My follow up isn't until 22nd December so I don't know whether it's best to book an appointment with my go? However I don't want to waste their time if it's normal for the skin to create a lump where a scar forms 😕

When I had my last op they glued my scars on the outside and I had disovable stitches on the inside- only no one told me. Sounds like your stitches to me. Sometimes the knots they tie can take a while to go and I've pulled disovable stitches out before as well. Ask the nurse or doctor next time you see them. But rubbing cream or bio oil into your scars helps if they're not open wounds.

This happened to me but after 3 months the lump disappeared after I increased my daily activity and started taking omega 3 and turmeric
