Cesarean scar endometrioma

I was sent for an ultrasound on a lump above my c scar. They discovered it had a blood supply and checked with 2 consultants, who said it looks like an endometrioma from my c sections. Any one else have this? What can be done? Can't find much info at all. Thanks

Hi there

Exactly what I had, took for ever to get diagnosed, had it surgically removed in 2008 best thing I ever done, pain disappeared over night!!

Unfortunately I have since then developed Endo in other places and waiting my third surgery but I must say its never as bad as that one was!!

No I didn't either. It was extremely painful but surgery really helped, worse thing for me is that I wasn't told it was a form of endo so when I started feeling unwell again in 2012 I had to go through 2 years of endless tests and hospital app before they realised it endo again but this time in a different form.

Wishing you the best of luck!! X

Hi

I have scar endo, thankfully under control with Progesterone only pill. Can I ask what surgery involved. I know that I can always feel a pea sized lump but when I had proper periods the swollen painful area was quite big.

At the moment Drs happy for me to be on pop but I'm 44 now so imagine one day I'll have to come off it

Thanks donna

Hi Donna,

My surgery was an open one, they made an incision just aboveboard bikini line to the right, might be different for you as mine was the size of a grapefruit.

Like you mine grew even bigger the week before and all through my period and it was extremely painful, I was never given the option of any other treatment other than surgery.

Hi

I developed swelling and cyclical pain from my c section/lap scar years ago. I saw GP who believes it was endo in the scar. We decided to go for progesterone only pill rather than surgery. It took a while but now I have no problems at all. When I do have a period it is minimal and although I get some pain and swelling around site it's not really a bother.

I have the merina coil so I don't really have a regular cycle or standard periods. I'm guessing that's why it has taken 4 years to develop?

Probably. Nasty though isn't it. Tbh I'm being a bit of a wimp. I've had 2 ops in 2 years and don't fancy another one.

Hi, I had to have my c-section cleaned up of endo 6 months after having my daughter and other endo as well dealt with through Laparoscopic surgery. Now 20 years later its everywhere again and my c-section will need cleaning up again. It's very thick and hard. I read from someone else she had her c-section re-opened for a good clean out and I'm thinking that's what they will have to do with me, find out in a few days!
