Still have stitches after lap
Hi @Don1980. I hope you're recovering well. I had a lap earlier this year and my stitches took 6weeks to dissolve and the outer ones fall out completely. Nurses told me to wash lightly with warm water and gently dry with a clean towel. I'm sure you've been gentle with your incisions anyway but hope that helps.
Hi, I'm 2.5 weeks post lap and got fed up with mine so just pulled really gently on the knots and they came off!
Hi mine took about 5 weeks to disappear, but I asked my gp and he said aslong as there's no irratation around them they are fine.
Hi,
After my lap mine were not coming out so they took them out but they had started to irritate me. They do normally dissolve but time can vary. If you're worried normally your practice nurse can help. X
Mine hadn't come out after 6 weeks and trying to gently pull them out hadn't worked so I went to see the nurse at my GP's. As I lay down, they fell out before she'd even touched me. Typical! And mildly embarrassing that id wasted her time. As long as they're not uncomfortable, just be patient. Hope you're beginning to feel much better X
