Period 3 weeks post lap

Hi all, I'm 3 weeks post lap, pain and tiredness are gradually improving which is great. I'm currently having my first period since the lap and it's been here for 8 days whilst my periods normal last for only 4-5 days. The first two days were just dark brown discharge which then suddenly turned into a period but it seems like it's going to stop then starts again, is this normal?

I had the mirena inserted during my lap as they told me to finish my packet of combined pills so obviously once i finished them my period came a few days later. I'm pretty headachey too.
