Hello, I had my first Prostap injection a week ago and started bleeding on Thursday, it’s not like a full period but I am still bleeding today, don’t know how long it will last. I have also felt really tired to the point where I don’t want to do anything and my body feels heavy, did you get this as well? How long have you been spotting for? Do you have any other symptoms?

Me too, for me is mainly feeling tired and the spotting mine is currently bright red. Hopefully it gets better! Yes I had the 4 week one, I had it to stop my period as I have an infected endomitrioma. Why did you get it? Is it the 4 week one as well? X

Yes it’s the 4 week one and it’s for endo and adeno pain I always bleed for 3 weeks out of 4.. its less now but not stopped though 😩😩 my pain was severe I felt like I’m in active labour the the whole past year.. it’s helped with the pain tho.. I’m getting nasty headaches and dizziness I don’t know if I want another 1

Do u have endo then?

Hi I totally understand it's just horrendous isn't it. Mine settled down after three and a half weeks, they had previously tried me on the mini pill, and I had eleven weeks of bleeding I'd had enough, I was getting to the point were I didn't want to be here anymore to be honest. I don't recall headaches but, hot flashes and night sweats but I was getting those before anyway. I'm so sorry your suffering so much sending you a big hug xx🤗❤️

Hello

Yes this can be normal. It can be your body adjusting to the prostap. I had zoladex then prostap over 19 months. The zoladex worked great at first then suddenly stopped and my periods returned with a vengeance. 20+ days, 3-7 day break then back again. Switched to prostap and whilst the bleeding lessened, I too was bleeding to some degree daily. This continued for 7 months in total till I finally was given a hysterectomy. By this stage it was an emergency/severely urgent procedure. Sadly we were to find out why, ovaries stuck to pelvic wall, bowel severely stuck to womb resulting in emergency bowel surgery and a colostomy bag being fitted and lumps in womb needing investigation. I nearly didn’t pull through surgery and they told my husband it was 50/50. After nearly 10 hrs I was back on the ward and 11 days later home. I was told in January the lumps were ok and I was cancer free and they had been the reason I couldn’t carry a pregnancy full term and had multiple miscarriages and an ectopic. Only took them 20yrs re to get an answer past it’s just back luck. Still I’m lucky, I’m still here, I did have my little ones inside me for a short spell when the hospital said I’d never get pregnant at all and I’m step mum to 7. Persevere with the prostap it take up to 3 months to work properly, all me decorations are not for everyone and what works for some doesn’t for others but it’s still early days, it’s horrible and annoying but it’s the usual be patient and see what happens scenario with these treatments. Good luck hope they offered or recommend the hrt add back to go with the prostap, I had Evorel patches, work great, rarely have hot flushes, on them for another 5 years.

Hi

Not doing too bad just the extreme tiredness. The colostomy is a lot to deal with some days but apart from that best thing I did having surgery. You will get there you’ve got this we are stronger than we could ever imagine

Have they not taken your colostomy bag away yet? I thought it was just for six months? We were in for our operations the same week so I remember everything you went through x

Be patient as I bled for nearly 2 and a half months then eventually it calmed down. It runs out early for me so I have to have it every 9 weeks but without it I bleed all the time x
