Hi, one of my main symptoms is my tummy swelling up/bloating and it's really painful and very embarrassing as I look pregnant! I take ibuprofen and other painkillers but nothing seems to help, is there anything anyone can suggest?

Thanks x

Welcome to End of Endo - your monthly newsletter to help you on your path to recovery from Endometriosis.

First of all let me wish you all a positive and optimistic start to the new year.

In this issue of End of Endo we are going to cover the health benefits of Green Tea. There is one health benefit in particular which will be very relevant for women with Endometriosis, and that is the ability of Green Tea to protect the body at a molecular level from the toxic effects of Dioxins

I know how you feel I suffer really badly with this. I find the IBS tablets with peppermint in help to make me feel more comfortable. And I find just have to watch what I eat x

Try reading up about FODMAP diet.

It teaches you which food to avoid that cause excess gas & bloating of the stomach.

I was advised to try this by my nutrionist.

I will be starting this diet soon too.

I've been following that strictly for 4 weeks and its left me worse than before I started! Going to see the dietician again on Tuesday, hopefully she can advise something else. Apparently 4 out of 5 that try it have good results, so definitely worth a try.

Ginger is great - the best way is to go grain, dairy and sugar free. It's also the worlds most depressing thing to have to do.... I did it for a year. It helps - but now my endo is so bad that nothing helps. I wish I could take my own advice - but I love food - and it loves me back... food is love.. (obviously not) - best of luck - ginger is really good and peppermint tea.
