BLOATING

Does anyone seem to get bloating pretty much every single day?

Obviously its bad during ovulation and period but for instance - my period stopped several days ago and I follow a gluten free, vegan diet to eliminate flare ups from food... my stomach is massive right now and so uncomfortable!!!!

I eat healthy, I work out 4-5 times a week (running & yoga) and I drink plenty of water. I don't drink alcohol and avoid food and drink that affect my endo flare ups.

I did have some granola earlier.... I thought it would be okay as the ingredients said oats which I assume are fine... but it did say MAY contain traces of barley, could a tiny amount do this?!

I am sooooo fed up of this stupid bloat!!!! I am also so tired, is fatigue an endo symptom for anyone else?

Hi Meg,

Sorry you're having such a rubbish time, I hate the endo bloat!! Like you, it flares up with ovulation and periods but mine flares up quite a lot at other times, like today for example!! I'm not sure of the reason, I've recently stopped eating meat to see if that helps but so far nothing :(

Sorry I can't help you with an answer but just letting you know you aren't alone!

Good luck xx

Hi Meg,

I have the same problem, but I have been diagnosed with Adeno.

I get terrible PMS literally the week after my period right up until I menstruate again. Just wondering if you could have adeno too?

I’ve started the mini pill today as I can’t have combined pill so I’m hoping it helps with the PMS and bloating!

Hope you manage to get to the bottom of it.

X

Thanks for your response... that’s interesting, how do you get diagnosed with it as I hear it is quite invisible and hard to diagnose? I do see a proper BSGE accredited specialist centre for Endometriosis (after years of my own research) and they are amazing. I have a check up appointment on the 1st August so I might bring this up... do you also have endo? I hear they usually go hand in hand!

I got diagnosed via lap, consultant was originally thinking I had Edeno, but when I came round she said I didn’t, but I do have adeno. To be honest I had never heard of it before then. The only real cure for it though is a hysterectomy but I declined as I was 23 at the time and only 27 now. Struggling with more as time goes on though. The PMS is horrendous and I literally came off last week and already the PMS has started again a few days ago. X

I am always bloated and I work out 5 days a week, don’t drink alcohol and went gluten and dairy free. Yet I’m still bloated which gets worse during period and ovulation.

I also get fatigue very often, some days I’m okay and others I feel so exhausted I can’t move xx

Yeah I used be like a size 8 and now I have to wear size 12/14 to hide the bloating otherwise I’ll look pregnant 😫 xx

Yup I’m the same!! Honestly people actually think I’m pregnant at times because it’s that bad like an actual bump. I had my lap last Aug and symptoms are just getting worse again and I’m tired constantly. I’m supposed to be having the marina coil fitted xx

It is so frustrating isn't it.... I had the mirena coil fitted too. It worked for about a year but then stopped working so I had it taken out. I suffered depression and anxiety from it too. Everyone is different though and it is always worth a try. My body can't handle extra hormones it seems! My doctor wants to try Zoladex but I think I will say no as I really don't want to have a fake menopause at the age of 25!x

I feel like I may be the same as you! I was on norethiserone after my lap and it sent me so funny!! Then went on cerazette it worked better for my moods but didn’t help the pain so trying mirena coil now but I’m nervous. They’ve said if this doesn’t help to try them injections but I’m 26 so around the same age and I feel the same 😩 I went on holiday a few weeks ago and there was a few times I had to go to bed early because of the pain and bloating just takes over doesn’t it?

Just try it and see if it works, its worth a shot! I was so anxious to have it fitted too but I just thought it was worth trying in the end. Yeah it really does take over!! Not fun :( x
