Hysterectomy and feeling sick still

Last week Wednesday I had a total hysterectomy. It was done abdomanilly. I was in hospital for 4 nights. My pain I can cope with but the constant sick feeling I am struggling. I want to know if anyone else has this? And if it will go. My temperature starts off OK in the morning and rises quite high in the evening. I hate the sickness feeling I feel like I have morning sickness but I definitely don't. Thank you

I had jaundice after my TAH and also felt sick for about a week then it seemed to just disappear; I ate toast and had tea for those few days (great diet!) but it does go - or at least it did for me. If it does continue after a week, I'd speak to your GP...

I'm just being nosey now...did you also have your ovaries removed?  I did and it took me three months to recover and then another three to be fully fit.

Wow! I hope it goes I hate this feeling. Wow fifth the journey of recovering feel never ending? Yes I had my ovaries removed too. It is so hard to get comfortable. I feel suffocated in the socks probably more so with the fact that I feel so sick. I have been warned that I could have up to 3 months off. Thank you x

Hi Carly, I had the same op as you on 3rd March. I also had an internal bleed after surgery. I was given anti sickness tablets as I spent the first 24 hours after surgery vomiting. Was in hospital for  5 nights,. Felt better once I was home.

Try ginger biscuits for the nausea. If it doesn't go in the next couple of days give GP a call, especially if you have a temperature, as this could be a sign of infection.

Get plenty of rest Hun and look after yourself.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and sending gentle hugs.

I felt quite sick for a few days after my hysterectomy and thought it was the antithetic, or the pain releuf, try some peppermint tea, or ginger tea or biscuits, if your temperature keeps going high I would see gp just incase of an Infection

Rest well, xx
