Feeling very low

Hi all,

I am currently going through a though episode/cycle and this time I am feeling extremely low. I always have a low mood during my cycle/endo but I am feeling like there is no way out and my mind is constantly racing.

I’ve been on several pills and had the mirena fitted 4 months ago (worst pain ever!) and have been referred - just waiting.

Anyone have any tips please? Unable to leave the house due to getting teary. My endo symps are pain, nausea and sickness (constantly retching), insomnia, bowel issues and sometimes blood clots.

What to do? And where to go next? It feels relentless.. x

Sorry to hear that you are so down. It will pass, just concentrate on that. Maybe watch funny animal videos. It helps me when I feel low:)

I have Mirena fitted 2 years ago. It was also bad and I had anesthesia for that. I still have pains. Pills do not agree with me. They made me feel very low to the point that my doctor was very concern for my well being. So I am not taking any pills. Mirena is my best choice. Do you still experience all symptoms on pills and Mirena? Can it be that pills aggravate your mood?

Thank you for your kind reply and advice - some funny animal videos sound great. I haven’t really been able to concentrate recently!

I’ve been off the pill for 4 months but recommended to start taking again today after this flare up… so hard to know what to do!

I’m glad the mirena is working for you. How long would you say it took? x

I am not sure if Mirena works for me. I get I'll have pains and flare ups. But I am telling myself that without it it could be worse or it would get worse. I am having my doubts if I need it since I have been in pain for more than a month now. I had couple days only without pain. But overall I've started to feel better about 6-7 months later. Then had 3-4 good months and starting this January everything is getting worse. I've been watching a lot of funny short YouTube videos recently 🤣

Ah so sorry to hear that. I’m not sure the coil is for me either but as you say what would it be like without it.. x

Hi, your experience sounds very much like mine! I had the coil in January and still got pain and relentless bleeding/clots.

I'm about to start prostap injections now as been told that's the next step. I'm keeping the coil too as generally it's not causing me problems so only works as contraceptive now rather than for what it was intended.

It took at least 6/7 months for mine to settle down.

I hope that helps (or not sorry if it's made you worry more)

Hi, thank you! It does help and I am sorry you are going through this too :( What treatment have too had? I’ve just been referred for the second time as my first has expired..

It's just horrible isn't it. So I've had a laproscopy to get rid of the endometriosis, a hysteroscopy to check for polyps, the coil and was supposed to have prostap today but my consultant keeps changing his mind. I've also had numerous ultra sound scans. I've also been given medication to help with bloody loss and pain. I'm so frustrated with it all as he says that fibroids cause the bleeding and endo causes pain but not both so I'm very confused. The last scan I had showed up a particular type of fibroid but he said that they are inferior and when he has done hysteroscopies before he didn't see anything. I'm now waiting for a myosure procedure to get the fibroid removed however I've asked my doctor to refer me to the private hospital now because 4 years down the line and it's all getting worse not better. It's so frustrating!!

I’m so sorry! Did the laparoscopy help in anyway? I can’t believe there’s so many of us going through this and it’s not ok! How does the private referral work?

Completely agree. The laproscopy I had in December 2019 and worked for a couple of months but since then it has just got worse. I'm not sure if it's the same throughout the UK but here you can ask to be privately referred if you are not getting the treatment you need on the NHS so just waiting for them to call me now so I can discuss it with them.

I hope you get somewhere with them! There has to be more answers. I find it’s such a waiting game..
