Op tomorrow!

Hi girls,

I've got my lap and hysteroscopy tomorrow! Got to be in hospital for 7:30. I am soooo nervous. I'm nervous at the thought of them not finding anything wrong.

I'm not sure how long I will be signed off work for either?

Anyway, got everything crossed and trying to keep calm

Good luck to you! I have my lap next week! And am so nervous! But you know the surgeons etc will make you feel at home and they are use to doing these operations every day!

Let me know how it goes! Xx

Good luck, it's weird but I think we are all more worried about nothing being found,

Remember to take a pillow for the journey home, the seat belt can be uncomfortable, also if you havnt already get somdone to get you some peppermint tea for the air that's left in your body, and when you get home rest up, and take as much time off as you need, little walks around the house every few hours will help,

Hope that all went well with your op, I had a lap today too and the pillow was a god send on way home! Recovered really quickly from the anaesthetic and no sickness thank goodness! Back up in my room just after 1pm and home at 4pm. Sore and painful now with shoulder pain (blooming gas!) But in bed and taking regular painkillers. Unfortunately he couldn't see any endo so I feel like I'm back to square 1 - that was the worst bit as both myself and consultant seemed pretty certain i had it. But will keep eye on symptoms and be back to GP if I feel I need more investigations! The positive I take from it is that my insides aren't stuck together, no adhesions seen, which is good.

The lap was much less nerve wracking than I thought, under GA before I really knew what was happening and then before I knew it I was awake! Only thing was I couldn't move my mouth or talk but that subsided after 5 minutes! And I couldn't stop shivering but that wore off after 30 min. So if anybody is due a lap soon I would say relax as much as possible, let them know if you feel sick, have any pain or other concerns and they will look after you. I love my food do one of worst bits was being nil by and the wait this morning! I have been signed off for a week but consultant said possibly two if I'm not quite better next week.

Good luck to everybody on your journey xxx
