I have tried various pain relief and have found nothing works. Naproxen makes me feel sick and I have no relief from other tablets. The only relief I have is by having a hot water bottle constantly topped up. At college or work placement I cannot use an hot water bottle. What have people found helps please.

Have you tried a TENS machine to see if that helps?

Try the stick on heat patches. ‘Cura heat’ ones are really good and last most of the day. The big brand are more expensive and do same! Available on Amazon in bulk too, but perhaps try them out first. Best of luck, I found they helped me a lot at work and when out and about. BTW, has you GP prescribed Omeperazole to protect your stomach? Taken once per day, before Naproxen. Helped me too.

Yes, the omeprazole can help counter the nausea you’re experiencing when taking Naproxen alone.

I’ve currently been prescribed the below and they really do seem to help, I was admitted to hospital with abdominal pain before Christmas and the pain team came to speak to me and prescribed me these:

- oramorph

- pregabalin

- dihydrocodine

Honestly worth asking the question cause had made the pain a lot easier to manage whilst waiting for a long term solution!
