Waiting for dyagnosis.

I had the laparoscopy 3 weeks ago and have to wait until November to see the consultant again. Is it normal to wait this long for results or can I see my doctor to find the results out. The surgeon said he would remove/fix anything whilst he was doing the surgery but I wasn't told what he did or what they found.

You should have been told outcome post op. You could phone ask for a letter summarising findings. Most folks given appts for 3-4 months to allow healing time and for u to have a few cycles.

Thank you for your reply. I will call the hospital next week and ask them, the letter they gave me post op doesn't state anything just that they did the laparoscopy and what pain killers I was on post op. I did think the 3-4 months would be to see how things were post op but thought it was a long time to wait for results. :-)

I agree with Miracle 77, they should have told you post op but they will have also sent a letter to your GP so they should know and be able to tell you !

Hope all goes well for you whatever they have done. x

I always receive a copy of the letter that they send to the GP which tells me pretty much everything. I know that this doesn't happen in all areas but you can call your consultants secretary and ask for a copy to be sent to you. You could also request to be sent copies in the future too. X

Def request to be copied on all letters. I learnt way mord about what they'd actually done during my lap that way! Goid luck andi hope you get some answers soon. xx

Hi, I'm not sure if this is definitely correct but I'm awaiting my diagnostic lap on Friday. When I had my pre op last week they told me.they legally have to tell you what was done when you were under once you come round from the anaesthetic. She then went on to say I'll also have a follow up after so it sounds like they should be telling you an overview before you're let out after the surgery. Xx
