Prostap Injections

Hi,

I finished 5months of Prostap injection at the end of April as they weren't working properly. How long should it be before my periods start again? I had a cystoscopy a week ago and my doc seemed slightly surprised I hadn't had a period yet. x

It took nearly 2 months for mine to start again after Prostap! X

Hya Bethforster,

When you say you gave up cos they weren't working for you, in which way weren't they working. I am about to reluctantly have my third injection this morning. If things don't get better for me about this month, I'm stopping them. I went on Prostrap for severe PMDD and part of that was migraine, crushing fatigue and depression. Not had any migraine since being on Prostrap and Livial, but still been absolutely exhausted, aching all the time and then in second month low mood came back, so pretty much similar to what I was like with PMDD. Though have just been put on iron tablets and vitamin D3 and seem to have perked up, so I will see what month 3 brings!

How did you feel on Prostrap and why were you on it? I haven't been to work since starting Prostrap. I'm fed up with it now.

Look forward to hearing from you X

Hey!

Well for me I was still in a lot of pain and I was still continuing to have periods as well as the side effects of Prostap. My doc had told me to keep taking my pill (mycrogynon) continuously through out though. When I went back for my 5th month injection she told me to no longer take my pill as this may have been the reason I was still having periods. My period did stop that month but I was still in a lot of pain. When I went back for my final appointment my doctor said that if they weren't working then I shouldn't have the final injection. I have since had a cystoscopy to look at my bladder as my doctor thinks I may also have Interstitial Cystitis which I why I was still in pain.

I was on Prostap for Endo. I felt miserable the entire time I was on it - I did continue to go to work but got pulled up by my manager that I was moody etc (fortunately i have a very understanding work so they did understand when i explained what was going on),.

I really hope that month 3 brings you the results you want!! xx

Hi, thanks for answering me. I know I have felt pretty miserable on it too and I too had a very painful period in month one, it was awful and then on month two, I bled for 13 days really really heavy. I don't know from one day to the next how I am going to feel on this, its a real rollercoaster. Anyway I've had my third injection this morning, so see what happens. I too hope things work out for you too. Its nice to speak on this site to other women who understand... thanks!
