Hi, I also have endo on the bowel and was in same situation as you last year, extremely constipated to the point that I almost passed out on a couple of occasions due to trapped wind. My number 2's were like rabbit pellets (sorry, tmi) which floated on top of the water and my bowel never felt empty after going.

A relative recommended colonic hydrotherapy to me which I ended up trying as I was so desperate as nothing seemed to be working. So I went for a few sessions, I found a few quite painful because of the trapped wind. I was also reading about digestive disorders, and it seemed to me that my stomach just wasn't digesting the food properly, on top of which I had been wheat free for years but wasn't taking enough fibre. My acupuncturist recommended psyllium HUSK capsules, 2 with a tall glass of water -half an hour before each meal. By the end of the year, I was having proper bowel movements- no more floating pellets !!! and felt so much better. My period pains also became more bearable.

Xx

No problem, it's absolutely horrible to suffer from severe constipation and makes the endometriosis a lot worse as your body is not absorbing the nutrients from food while this constipated which it desperately needs.

I forgot to mention that it's worth taking a really good digestive enzyme, I take Digestizol Max which I order from the USA, but I'm sure you can get some equally good from shops in UK.

Also, if you do try the colonic sessions, it might be worth taking some Windeze tabs (not sure I've spelt that correctly!!) before the session to make it less painful.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon

Hi constipation makes you feel terrible. I have endo on bowel and for years been told I have IBS but my gynae has now said this is not the case it is the endo. For years I have taken pure aloe Vera gel first thing in the morning half hour before eating/drinking. I get it on line from Forever Living as have found its most pure around. I swear by aloe Vera it keeps me regular and if I do get constipated due to diet I double up on the aloe and it sorts me out without the harsh cramps laxatives cause.

Hi there, I get this too, and since I've started having hot water with slices of lemon first thing in the morning, I've started being a lot more regular. Apparently it wakes up your digestive system after you've been asleep. May not work for everyone, but maybe worth a try!

Hi Lisa,

I used to get constipated all the time, I was first told I had IBS before endo diagnosis. I find prune juice works really for me, I always keep a carton around now just in case.

I've also found that taking a daily probiotic capsule has also helped. I buy mine online from Nature's Best.

Also a teaspoon of linseeds in your food helps as they have a naturally high fibre content. Don't take too much and drink lots of water if you have them as too much and not enough water has the opposite effect of blocking you up.

I use movicol sachets, strong coffee and lactulose syrup! Good combo together when you are getting to desperation point!

I use psyillium husks too -I buy them loose in a bag from my local health store and have 1 teaspoon twice day mixed in a glass of water. You have to drink another glass of water straight after to wash it down your gullet properly.

I have endo on bowel too and am waiting for an op for removal, laxido stopped working for me tried senakot max that wasn't much help either so went onto lactulose syrup which you can get over the counter, works wonders for me as long as I remember to take it and track when I don't go so I don't get a build up!

Try l- glutamine, amino acid, its saved me. As you may know, we (women with endo) must empty our bowels on a daily basis, because the wasted estrogen is otherwise reabsorbed from the guts, making the problem of excess estrogen much worse.
