Hey chick, is it just pain you are experiencing? What type of pain?

Have you had an examination to ensure it is in the right place? I would ring GP and get it looked at if you are in that much ain you can not cope go to a&e.

I had one fitted in surgery in Dec I had the most horrendous pain in my pelvis area for several weeks but I went to GP to ensure was in place.

I was like this after having mine fit. It's been 7 weeks for me now and the pain has eased. I'm still having some pain. If your not happy go back to your drs or gynae. That's what I've done. Sending hugs.

Hey,

I too was like this when I had mine fitted in July 2011. I had pain, irregular bleeding and headaches and other side effects. I went to my GP to get it checked but they told me it was my body getting used to it. After 6 months everything calmed down and I still have it in now.

If the pain is bad do get it checked as it could have moved or something.

Hi. I had a mirena coil fitted on 24th Feb as well. Last night I woke up in terrible pain and lay awake for hours, I took some pain killers but am still in a lot of pain, in my lower back as well as stomach. I thought it was down to the surgery I had, but after reading these replies I'm begining to think its the coil. I was told to make an appointment for 6 wks after the coil was fitted to check its in the right place. Was never told I'd experience pain due to the coil, infact wasn't told anything as to what pain I'd experience after op, very frustrating.

Yes I also woke up last night with bad pain! I've got doctors today and think they are going to put me on stronger pain killers. It's bit better this morning

Yea I went to doctor today as well. She told me not to under estimate the severity of what I'd had done, my surgery was quite extensive. I need to up the dosage on the pain killers and be a patient and rest!!
