No, No, and NO!

You should absolutely be taking precautions against getting pregnant while on Prostap or Zoladex, which will probably mean condoms - not much fun, but very necessary

If you suspect that you are pregnant already, get yourself to your doctor immediately.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear...

I don't suspect I am pregnant, just wondered if we could start trying and we didn't use protection once (last night). Please could you tell me why? When I was given the first injection in hospital I had to ask my consultant if I had to use condoms while on it and he replied yes if you don't want to get pregnant and said nothing else........

Take it from me it is not recommended!

I was on Zoladex when I discovered I was pregnant - turns out I was pregnant before they gave me the first injection, my womb showed signs of early pregnancy however they could not find on any tests, so it was believed I had miscarried. Unfortunately all the side effects of zoladex are close to the signs of pregnancy so I ignored my instincts until a few day before my nxt injection, only to get a positive pregnancy test. I was in shock and so were the hospital. I also wanted answers as to what this could mean to my baby . I was simply told worse case scenario that my child could be born with both genitals, however they were not really sure. I had scans at 5 7 12 and 20wks all was well with my child. I gave birth to a beautiful girl and all was as it should be fingers, toes, all in the right place. You can not imagine the relief I felt I was overjoyed that she was healthy, my whole pregnancy I was fraught with worry that I had caused my child to be damaged, how would i live with myself if something had gone wrong it was not a a nice experience.

As a mother you want to give your child the best start in life, and you want a happy pregnancy all I can say is if you look up online it says not to fall pregnant whilst on prostap, zoladex, etc and those warnings are there for a reason. If you want a child, wait until your treatment is finished.

I'm so sorry, Karen, I wasn't ignoring you, I don't know how to set things up on here so I get post notifications.

Basically, everything that Angel said - there is so much that can cause harm to the baby. It's the complete opposite of the 'right' hormonal environment for a child to be conceived. Angel was, thankfully, very, very lucky that her gorgeous daughter not only made it through but made it through happy and healthy.

Please, please don't take any more risks. The result could be horrible beyond your wildest nightmares, especially if you really want a baby. Your consultant should have made this more clear to you, but we're telling you now :)

And if there's any chance that that encounter the other night could have left you pregnant, make sure you test in a couple of weeks

I know it's hard, because all you're thinking of is the time you're 'wasting', but it really is so, so important x
