We have a new poll dealing with the length/amount of sleep and Diabetes. When we don't get enough sleep, it can effect the blood sugars. The new poll is: healthunlocked.com/drwfdiab.... Thank you, Jerry for helping with the poll and the idea. :-)

The posting is going to be pinned to the Pinned Posts for easier access.

Good morning Leah and sleep is so important to everyone so I'm glad that you like the poll.

I'm lucky as I sleep soundly. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wonderful!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

I use a treadmill at a nearby gym although I am concerned that my heart rate elevated too much for my age,, speed, and incline.

Has your doctor suggested that you use a treadmill for exercise? Please let your doctor know about the raised heart rate. No one wants anyone getting sick or worse. Can you call them this week for an appointment?

I am seeing my cardiologist on the 25th of February.. I think it might be from the drug mirebegon or Myrbetriq for overactive bladder.

How long have you been on either medication?

I have had the Metformin since 2006, the Myrbetriq for maybe 3 years. I also have renal insufficiency , stage 3B and Myrbetriq has a long half life ; the urologist suggested cutting it in half. Not sure if I can. Will contact pharmacy.. I would ask for a new Rx for 25 mg. instead of 50 mg. but I just bought a 90 day supply.

In general I have better access to health care than many in the UK seem to have with good insurance and Medicare, but some drugs in the US are expensive., and Myrbetriq is one, costing the equivalent of 70 pounds. ($90) for a 90 day supply by mail, otherwise more than 3 times as much locally.

Communication with the cardiologist is not the best. Very busy office,, highly bureaucratic communication. He is located in my tiny state of Delaware. I have a left bundle branch block. Most of my doctors in Philadelphia are better.

Note: my nephrologist has approved all drugs.

I wonโ€™t go back to walking on the treadmill until I see him in 2.5 weeks.

I understand completely about how much everything can cost. Iโ€™m on anticonvulsants that cost a lot without insurance. With insurance, itโ€™s a lot, but not as bad.

Let us know what you find out soon from your doctor after the appointment.๐Ÿ˜€

The pharmacist agreed with me that taking Merbetriq every other day is better than cutting it because the extended relief property disappears if you cut it. So I will do that until I see the cardiologist. If there is nothing alarming at that appointment, I also found out that my insurance will cover the lower dose of Merbetriq before the 90 days are up, so I will get an Rx for that as soon as I return home from a trip.

In the meantime I will stay away from the gym. Which I do need for osteopenia and diabetes.

Itโ€™s good to know that the Pharmacist was able to help you with the dosage of your medication and the plan for your appointment.๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

Yes, once you get the all clear for exercise, see what you can do and take it slow. No one wants you getting sick or worse.

Thank you!
