Hello friends…

I am a 57 male from India. In January 2016 during a routinecheck up, I was diagnosed as a Diabetic. The lab test confirmed the same with the Hba1c being 13+.

I was very depressed.As I know there is no permanent cure for the same. It is always said diabetes will almost reduce your normal life span by at least 10 years.

I thought everything is lost…On second thought, I decided to fight back. So I started reading and collecting information on the subject of diabetes. My search led me to the HealthUnlocked forum. I found the discussions very helpful. The knowledge gained through the discussions helped me to formulate my strategy to fight back.

Also, I started participating actively in discussions..and posting whatever information I have and also sharing what I came across that I thought would be helpful for other forum members. I posted about 125 + posts in the ‘Diabetes India’ group.

Here is my journey for the last 11 months on HealthUnlocked.

With guidance and best wishes from my friends and senior forum members, I could reduce my Hba1c from 13+ to 5.9 within 6 months (With only 250-500 mg per day metformin). My next Hba1c test is due on the anniversary day.

Anyway, congrats....spread Indian culture and cultural as well as dietary habits in this forum where knowledge of Ayurveda as a branch of ancient Indian medicine is very valuable for diabetics like us.
