im 46 , 5.5 , 99 kg i accidently discovered that i am diabetic few days back when j did a routine blood test few days back. it was 181 fasting and 296 post lunch. hbac1 10.2

such high readings have shocked me.since i have no heridatary diabeties, nor any usual symptoms like blurred vision, tingling etc except constant dry and thirsty mouth.

i am yet to see doctor for medications, but being a foodie i am devastated😂

my diet volume wise is not high like 3 chapatis , rice etc. luckily dont like sweets. non veg is also limited to once in a week.

have bought accucheck which by the way showing higher readings than lab test. like yesterday post lunch was 395, and today morning fasting was 236.

lets c how things work out and what medication doctors suggest to start with.

i hope insulin injections are not on way

morning walk is d best option for at least 1 hr maintain ur carbohydrate count n focus on weight loss.

Follow LCHF diet and avoid all type of sugar even sugar free seetner

Everybody discovers accidentally , never in a planned manner .Do strict dieting do reduce sugar .Take cucumber and vegetable, salad etc . Also need totake medicine to reactivate the pancreas

TY all, wil c the doc.definately, but i am cluless as to y accu chek showing increasing readings, like past 2 days pp was 296,395 and todays was 430!! same with fasting too.

like today i had lunch 3 chapati, rice bowl, kala chana sabji, and daal. only extra was half bowl of amul dahi with 1 teaspoon of honey. did that cause a spike.

how frequent readings should be taken? currently daily i am taking morning fasting and post lunch.

70% 0f your diet is from CARBOHYDRATES....rice, Roti's, and honey. Reduce it.

Curd be without Honey.

Increase fats

ok but i am already overweight, inc in fat will inc weight also😂

btw do karela juice, methi seeds, amla powder effective in lowering sugar

That is wrong thinking. I too was heavyweight when I started -LCHF DIET. 20% CARBOHYDRATES

Protein..20%

Fats.........60%

I could reduce 18 pounds in 5 months.

With 60% Fat & 20% Starch diet, reducing 18 lbs in 5 months is wonderful! If I were over weight, could have tried this!!

I had already p0ssted the facts , with my diet chart.

After that,the reduced weight is

constant(stagnant).

Then I sought GUIDENCE from the forum - members, who guided me to observe INTERMITTENT FASTING 16/8.

This has been a successful

.in NON-DEC-16, I COULD REDUCE FURTHER.

Carbohydrate cause obesity and diabetes T2. Reduce it to 20-40 gm per day. Have butter, coconut oil,mutton, beef, eggs etc having natural fat preferably saturated fats and olive oil. Have lot of greens like broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, spinach, tomatoes etc. Have almonds and cashew nuts for snacks. Avoid all carbs like sugar, rice, wheat, potatoes, tapioca etc. Breads and pastha should be the last thing you think.

Try this for one week. You will see the magic.

Continue this for 6 to 12 months. You can reverse diabetes. Sure.

Start today. Never think of insulin.

would u be kind enough to share the diet, fat in the sense food containi g fat or fods likd puri, bhature, dosas u jniw all fried stuff

can i eat egg with every meal in any form fried boil etc

No rice or wheat items. Avoid chavall, poorI, chappathi,dosa etc. Forget about them. Have kabuli chana cooked in pure coconut oil or butter, eggs etc for breakfast. Fried mutton or beef with greens for lunch. Eggs or meat fried in coconut oil with vegetables for supper. No snacks in between. Have tea or coffee without milk whenever you want. A half spoon sugar will not harm if total intake is less than 20 to 40 gm.

Low carb low calorie diet and great reduction in weight is the solution.

First of all u r 30 kg overwt. So u start gradually reducing wt. Bcoz of high BS u time being strictly avoid rice,kala chana. U start yr food in 6 serving. Morning tea, breakfast, morning snack, lunch, evening snack,dinner.

U track ur each meal. Download some app for tracking.

Yr CARB count should be controlled up to 180. Calorie intake should be 1500kcal. As per yr age u should eat 1800kcal. Per day. But for reducing wt. 1500kcal. Should eat. U change yr lifestyle sedentary to moderate active.

U go for lipid profile test and see Triglycerides,HDL level. Yr Hba1C is so high so strictly follow DOC medicine otherwise if Hba1c increased by beyond 15% u may lost yr vision or kidney failure.

Boiled egg r so beautiful healthy breakfast in the morning.

Now a days OBIMET (Combination of Metformin & glympride) r good bcoz it will show u fast result. But strictly follow yr DOC advice as per yr health conditions.

Check every week in the laboratory initially don't check on GLUCOMETER. Once u control yr BS than start checking by GLUCOMETER.

Weekley checking will helpful weather u r Type-1 diabetic or Type-2 diabetic patient.

Check Hba1C every after 3 months.

I beg to differ. Frequent food is not recommended but IF is good.

180 g carbs is too high for him. For him around 50 g carbs and around 80 g proteins are good. Liberal use of good fat will help lose fat / weight.

Pl check the leaflet accompanying the Accucheck monitor.

I believe that the machine works if in 25 degrees centigrade or less temperature.

Higher than that it may give different results.

I believe this from observation but cannot speak definitively.
