I have been given to understand by my doctors that diabetes can only be managed, not cured. But people who follow the LCHF diet and those who follow the starch diet have reversed the condition. Reversed means that whatever was there, is still ahead if we follow the same path.
The sad thing is that MBBS and further specialisation ignores nutrition entirely.
A nutritionist and doctor has said that diabetes is a condition that is the result of several imbalances. Perhaps it is those imbalances that lead to our visceral and tissue accumulation of fat. He is on
He has suggested several tests and correction of the imbalances if any. Since we do not have any one doing these and we are left with only FBS, PPBS, HbA1C and OGTT we may have to wait a decade for any adaptation here.
But there are a few things that we can do.
1. Check blood level of vitamin D3. My husband, an avid gardener out in the sun most of the time has insufficient D3. He is prone to fractures. Living in the tropics does not ensure optimism D levels. And he eats fats too.
2. Take a short walk after meals. He suggests having a heavy breakfast followed by a 45 minutes walk, a medium lunch and 20 min walk and a light supper followed by another walk. I tried this and walked in my drawing room or went upstairs and vigorously pulled down the clothes from the clothesline etc. It brings down the PPBS by at least 20 m.g.d.l in my case.
3 The talk is terribly boring and verbose. He does not want to give out too much info as he wants to sell his book etc.
But I like to know what is going on.
There are people who get sebaceous cysts. Some are excised and there is a cure. Some put some natural remedies and it bursts. Some have the pus cultured and are treated on antibiotics. But almost in all cases, they come back. The bacteria is Streptococus. We all get it on our skins, but we do not get the cysts. What is it that causes some to have reduced immunity to the bacteria? I had a colleague with this problem. He was clean, vegetarian, had perfect blood reports and yet had this. The homeopathic treatment prohibits trigger foods. How can this be if it is bacterial? The homeopathy, long drawn out brings results.
Diabetes has no cure in Ayurveda or homeopathy. Only management. But as Wes Youngberg says, if cause is removed, the results would also disappear.
