Good, keep it up. Since your diagnosis was very recent, your were quick to tackle the problem, hence you were able to keep it under control. But for some of us, our diabetes has affected our system for some years, and I was not aware of this alternate system to control the disease, hence it might take time for us to bring it under control. anyway, thank you for your post, and take control of your health, and continue to help and motivate others.

I am in this group for more than three years and several times I had shared my diet and excercise. There is no fixed diet. The idea is to refuce your carbohydrate intake drastically. Have a small scale at your kitchen and weigh the quantity of food you take at each meal. Keep acucheck glucometer at home. If you take 150 g cooked rice, it will be about 90 g carb. Take ragi, green gram, samba wheat porridge, etc for breakfast. Three idlies or two dosas once in a while. Take good helpings of salads at each meal that will fiil your stomach. Do not hesitate to take coconut oil (preferably vco), milk, curd and buttermilk. Small quantity of nuts ok. I take two eggs every day mostly white of egg.Among fruits, kiwi suits me well. I take other fruits in moderation. Totaly avoid sugar and honey. Avoid artificial sweteners like equal and sugarfree. But can take stavia. Home made vegetable soup is great. Just boil a variety of vegs exceot potato and tubers then mix it in a mixer and light garnish in oil.

Total carb intake per day should be less than 140 g. Spikes caused by items of food varies from people to people. So you have to check your ppbs after taking a dish and note how your body accepts it. Means avoid/reduce foid that lead to 140 ppbs. Over a period of time you will get a list food items that suit you.

I do take a lot of fat.

I walk/excercise 30 minutes in the late morning and another 30 minutes after eatly dinner. I take a spponfull of pheugreek (methi) powder and karela juice in the morning. I keep a spilt bhindi (ladies finger) in a glass of water overnight and take liquid at the morning.
