1 Year Progress

Hello Everyone, It has been quite long since I posted my last update. Hope all are doing great. I have checked my HbAC for 2 times last year and this year beginning. Last year June, it was 5.7 with fasting sugar 90 and in January it became 5.6 and 100 respectively. Also, I could become leaner and gained more muscles with my routine exercises. Last one year I changed my diet a little bit including a Whey protein post work out. Everything is amazing and The doctor told me my condition is like almost normal. I am thankful to Jesus for these wonderful results. I am healed by Him. Anyway, keep up your diet well. I won't recommend taking whey protein if you are not hitting gym regularly. In addition, the body responds differently to everyone. so take care .cheers

Not really. The size of rice is only a handful and they usually provides it with brown rice mixed with grains and vegetables.

If you are in Korea go for the kimchi - fermented vegetables can work wonders for stabilising BS levels. If not in Korea you can make kimchi at home using ordinary cabbage even though Chinese cabbage is freely available all over India and is the best ingredient for making kimchi.

Rakins: Are other fermented vegetables also help stabilising BS level? Or it has to be kimchi style?

in reply toLuckysugar

I am quite sure other fermented vegetables too stabilize BS and at the same time and more importantly perhaps regulate the biota in the gut - recently recognised as the starting point of all health issues.

However I made kimchi at home twice - once using Chinese cabbage and the next time ordinary cabbage (as the Chinese tends to be too expensive for me) and radish. I made 1 1/2 kgs each time and was amazed at how quickly I consumed it. However it is an acquired taste!

I prefer cabbage as the main ingredient. I haven't yet ventured into adding other vegetable. Also I love making my version of kimchi at home as I can twaek the salt and spice content.

I meant "tweak"! Sorry!

Thanks Rakins for sharing your experience in making kimchi. In recent years I like making kimchi quite often using Chinese cabbage especially when they were cheap. I didn't realise they are beneficial to BSL but they are great food for gut health and healthy bowels. I usually add some other vegetables eg. Chinese radish, garlic chives, spring onion. My Korean friends always suggest using only Chinese cabbage not the ordinary one due to they're different in favour and texture. However, this depends on individual's choice.

In Korea Kimchi is like a common food for every dishes.. like we have pickles in India

in reply tosanojsti

The only difference being one can have a large amount of kimchi any time!

Great work sanojsti! I also agree with Concerned's suggestions. Real food, real simple protein is always the best and sustainable.
