Dont know what to do anymore

Ive had depression, tablets and counselling for about 10 years. Recently been referred to a physco therapist who thinks im suffering with aniexty. Im snapping at everyone always in such a bad mood. I have 2 lovely kids not bad off financially so I should be happy but im not. Ive tried so many different tablets and treatments. Nothing is working just don't know what to do anymore. X

  • I feel your pain. I've also got two children, both of whom are very clever and lovely. I've got a good job and today is my first day of six weeks' off. The sun is shining, I've got friends coming round for food later and life should be perfect for me. Doesn't really explain why I'm walking around miserably, depressed at the state of the house and thinking the world would be a better place without me. Hope your day improves x

    I'm sorry you are feeling so very low and with such a nice day to come...

    I'm up and down too although there's nothing really wrong. It is hard to shift depression. I've given up trying meds and now just go to therapy and when that finishes (I've extended until next Feb or so as we're paying for it privately) then that's it, I'm going to live with however I feel.

    I do hope you have enjoyed your day once it started - I often find that I feel negatively until I'm mixing with people and then suddenly feel fine until they go again. I hope you had a great time.

    I'm sorry you are feeling so low. See my answer to Suzie above. It sounds like you are feeling irritable if you are snapping at everybody. You say you are having therapy - do you know what kind yet? I've always found therapy helpful in that it's supportive having someone to talk things through with, but I still find I feel low although I do understand where it comes from in my past and the things that trigger it now. I do hope therapy helps you.


  • Iking85 I know exactly how you feel. I too have had depression for several years but was only diagnosed about two years ago. Ive had therapy, done cbt courses and on medication but I still feel low. I have good days and bad days. Today was quite a good day as I started the day with a visit to the gym which always helps.

    You arent alone. Take it one day at a time.
