Finally Jay you can use what I call ‘frameworks’ to put together a stack.
A ‘framework’ involves an explanation of disease evolution and a stack of supplements and lifestyle modifications, that hopefully work in synergy to alleviate symptoms and address root causes of the problem.
Here are three ‘frameworks’.
1. The first was used extensively when my spouse was first diagnosed. Never reach the dosage levels suggested, but it did give me a starting point to put together a stack in the early days.
So there we are my friend. All frameworks - and I have a few more in my library - are just guidepost. Frameworks do help you in ‘systems thinking’ and I find these frameworks guide my thought processes in putting together a stack.
You can of course adopt any one of them wholesale, but for me this remains a do it yourself exercise.
Hang tuff!
P.S: None of these frameworks include Niacin or Lithium which I consider vital to improve the QOL of my spouse. Framework one does have NADH, which comes close. 🌺
I have concerns about Ashwagandha. I think it is a super antigen (boosts your immune system) and I think PD is an autoimmune disease. Not a good combination (in my opinion). I wrote about it: What I've learned about Ashwagandha healthunlocked.com/cure-par...
In an earlier post this week "ways to increase dopamine" ashwaganda was listed as may reduce dopamine but protects dopamine neurons and levels from stress. I was surprised at some of the supplements on the list that reportedly decrease dopamine. DHEA, GABA, Berberine, Magnoia, Vitamin C? and magnesium which is been reported to be very beneficial. It gets very confusing, I just don't want to give my HWP the wrong supplements thinking I am doing the right thing. For instance for magnesium the link is to PUBMED citing a study that "magnesium ion augmentation of inhibitory effects of adenosine on dopamine release in the rat striatum" Yeah right whatever that means.
Thanks. I also do a series of Pranayam and deep breathing exercises hoping that it will help my body and brain to recover or minimise the damage from the onslaught of medicines and nutraceutical chemicals.
