Ambroxol

The video presents good preclinical evidence for why ambroxol can be expected improve Parkinson's. The adverse events involved in ambroxol treatment have been low. I would encourage anyone who finds this of interest to sign up for the trial.

Anyone familiar with this drug and their benefits for parkinson's? Found two studies, but not sure if it became mainstream and readily available?

My husband has started taking Ambroxol - 240mg per day (4 x 60mg) -from mid dec last year- and has said he said he feels a bit better in his movement- more able to turn over in bed - easier to move about. It’s not drastic but says it’s noticeable. Is anyone else trying Ambroxol?

My understanding was that there were 3 disease modifying studies at phase 3 trial.1 Exenatide has failed. 2 Ambroxol is on going 3 lactobacillus acidophilus I can't find any study details for via google. Does anyone know more ?

I haven't had success with the typical meds for PD If fact - the NeuPro patch and the Rytary made her worse So based on what I am learning from this community, I SHOULD try the following 1 NAC 2 B1 - high does thiamine 3 Lithium 4 Ambroxol 5 Mucuna Pruriens Questions - - Are there those that

• Ambroxol, • Doxycycline, or • Ambroxol and Doxycycline combined.

What kind of results are people getting with ambroxol?

Hi all, It seems there are trials on this existing drug, used as a cough medicine, to establish if it can be repurposed as an effective PD drug. I'm interested to hear from people who have tried this/ are trying this and to hear your experiences. Many thanks, Tony

Is anyone using ambroxol? I saw that 3 years ago people were trying it. Is anyone today using it? How has it gone for those using it?

I have been taking ambroxol 1200 mg/d with some success. There are clinical trials taking place in the UK, but I am not officially involved because I live in the US. My neurologists has no knowledge concerning this drug. Will anyone share with me any news about success or failures with this drug?

Is anyone taking Ambroxol which is essentially a cough syrup or lozenge not routinely available in the US....I've read some studies showing beneficial results for Parkinsons patients but no followup.

Ambroxol that they’ve banned in the US cough medicines can prevent Parkinson’s. (No wonder they’ve banned it, seems sus.) PS128 reduces MPO an enzyme that plays an important role in the development of PD and other neurodegenerative diseases. Fecal transplants can do wonders.

Ambroxol has been shown to possibly remove the misfolded alpha synuclein from the brain. Does this mean that Ambroxol is stimulating autophagy? How is this any different than autophagy? Has it been determined if Ambroxol is also removing other zombie cells or misfolded proteins?
