Diagnosis ????

Hi everyone. My name is Rose, I have a history of autoimmune disease..sle, sgraves disease and previous stage 4 endometriosis and bowel adhesions with multiple polypoid ovarian tumours. Previous hysterectomy and salpingo oopherectomy with excision of endometriosis.I have suffered with bowel issues since my teens and this past year things have deteriorated rapidly . I was recently hospitalised for a week after passing out due to vomit and diarrhea and facial / hands rash episode.

I have had a couple of very high faecal calprotectin tests, benign bowel polyp removed during colonoscopy , small mesentery nodes found, high crp blood levels , and a positive hydrogen breath test.

I'm currently waiting for a capsule scan which should be in the next week or so. I have a family history of crohns but the consultant has mentioned possible crohns or Bile malabsorption and won't commit until all the tests are done.

Anyone else have similar symptoms to me ? I'm so tired of it all and actually look forward to starting appropriate medication within the coming weeks.

Hi Rose, it does sound confusing, and I imagine you will be relieved to get a firm diagnosis. I'm not medically trained so can't offer advise, but if you do indeed have Crohns or some form of colitis, there are very efficacious medicines available. It seems to take forever for tests and results to come through, and it can be worrying. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Wishing you all the best and good luck!

So sorry Rose You are having a rough time. I have similar problems and have had a colonoscopy and recently had a endoscopy. They found I have Barretts oesophagus. I also had Diverticulitis. My mother has Crohns which she manages. Get every test they offer I am sure they will get you the right help. Hang on in there. I am trying new medication and keeping a diary .
