proctitis under control but now stomach cramps and diarrheoa

Hello, I have posted before but can’t seem to find them. Each time you have all given valuable advice so thank you. I have been under a consultant where I’ve had a camera to confirm proctitis. Tried a few various meds but predisolne solution is working at the moment. where I watch what I eat and able to go a toliet with out passing blood. I don’t drink alcohol or caffeine ( anything to stop me going too much)I have just finished my two weeks course of prednisone and weaning off over the next month. However over Christmas i believe I caught a stomach bug bad stomach cramps. Actually feels where my stomach is rather than lower if that makes sense. Stomach cramps then have diarrhoea. That took two weeks to pass I had 4 good days. I ate a few crisps two days ago that I didn’t realise were onion flavour! Since then I’ve had bad wind and today the cramps Back with diarrhea! I can’t work out if I’m unlucky and have another bug or something else. It’s driving me nuts as I still have an appetite but if I look at food I’ll get stomach cramps! Does it sound like uc now? Sorry for the long message ..any advice, experience would be welcome. Thank you x

You could just be unlucky as a lot of bugs an viruses going around this winter. Are you on prednisone oral or enema ? Maybe it’s worth trying a good probiotic as this has help some people with bloating and cramps. I find this time of year my u/c always plays up with all the Christmas eating.

Hi jim, thanks for replying! I’m hoping I’m just unlucky too as the stomach cramps are awful and I hope it passes. Im on enemas although pretty rubbish to administer they seemed to work. Although gone 2 steps back as this has turned me inside out and bleeding again.I’ve been on it on and off since august. Maybe my immune system isn’t the best at the moment. I tried pro yogurt but think I had the bug( if it is )already. So will have to reintroduce it slowly again. I feel like my symptoms have got worse over the last six months. Since I was referred - how’s that 🙄 anyway I hope you aren’t suffering too bad at the moment.
