Hi. I am new to this forum and needing some advice please.
Over the last week or so my stomach cramps have been getting worse to the point where it's making my lower back hurt and I am either stretching or in the faetal position.
Does anybody else suffer like this?
I have had IBS and colitis now for over a year.
Thankyou

Have you investigated what triggers your colitis flares? Different foods can affect it - top tries are gluten and milk/dairy, but you might want to ask your IBD nurses (assuming you've been diagnosed and given support) if you need to/could see a dietician. Others are onion and garlic. It could be that something is giving you a trigger - from experience, this can be hard to pin down, but some of them are easier to exclude than others. Gluten isn't easy to exclude and excluding it can then cause issues weaning back on...
I agree with you CormorantWatcher I suffer from colitis and I have gone gluten free as wheat is one of my triggers. Have you tried keeping a food diary to see what might be your triggers, it is certainly worth it. Best of luck H-e-l-e-n.
