Colonoscopy is the only way they can take biopsies which is vital for diagnosis and they can also remove any suspect polyps at the same time. Why are you worried about how invasive it is, some people have to have this done on a regular basis, if it's important then it has to be done.

Well except for its invasiveness, i also don't have insurance to cover up the cost. It's pretty big. Which makes it more difficult for me to have it

Well cost is a different matter but being invasive shouldn't be a concern.

Sorry to ask but have you tried colonoscopy? What was your diagnosis?

I have ulcerative colitis so I've had numerous colonoscopies, last one 2 months ago.

What symptoms did you have for ulcerative colitis? Is the prep really that horrible?

I've had uc for over 50 years with the usual list of symptoms. The prep isn't pleasant but we just have to do it and there are various ways to make it easier, there are loads of YouTube videos about the prep and procedure, some are hilarious so might help with your worries.

You made blood tests?

Colonoscopy as has been stated by the other people is the most accurate way to get a diagnosis. No one likes to have it done, we all feel embarrassed but getting a definitive diagnosis and correct treatment is the only way. I live in the UK so paying for this treatment isn't a concern for us brits. The team who do this procedure are well aware of how nervous you might be and in my experience are always very kind and considerate, tell them how you feel, but get it done.Good luck.

I find it always so bizar that everyrhing is so expensive. Here in Belgium.it isnfornme about 12 euro.

If the doctor needs coloscopy try to arrange this.

Maybe with the help of your doctor.

Fecal Calcprotectin stool test is a good indicator of inflammation but it cannot give you the exact location so a colonoscopy would certainly follow if the test results are high
