I was diagnosed with mild microscopic colitis. My dr prescribed budesonide for 6 weeks. How long before I am back to normal
Mild microscopic colitis: I was... - Crohn's and Colit...
Mild microscopic colitis
What are your other symptoms, also colitis is a chronic illness so by normal - do you mean remission?
I have diarrhea and some cramps. I really have to watch what I eat. I’m going potty 3 times a day sometimes and I miss a day or go once. It really depends on what I eat
My own experience of being on the steroids is that you feel great whilst on them - how the body reacts once off is important, took me over 6 months and 3 courses of prednisone to feel any sense of normality - i would suggest sticking to a ‘simpler’ diet whilst you are flaring and consider going back normal once feeling a lot better. I myself have been sticking to a limited diet just I feel a lot better, any fried foods etc.. I feel it the very next day.
How are you doing Jenny? I was diagnosed with cologenious colitis in Feb. Have been on Budesonide for 5 months...….Decided not to take any chances since the gluten free diet didn't make too much difference. I started the specific carb diet the first part of May and am finally seeing some hope. Have some good days but the second I make the slightest deviation from what Iv'e been trying like thinking I could eat a little bean soup this week because legumes are on the scd….I was back to square l.
All to say, the doctors don't tell you what your chances are of going into remission so I guess if you get lucky and the Budesonide takes care of it, you are lucky indeed!
I'm old and this disease has made me very skinny but I have, lots of guts, lots of faith and I'm not ready to give up yet!
