It's perfectly normal to have biopsies taken during a colonoscopy, I had 10 done last time !

Did they find anything as I'm struggling with my health anxiety 🙃

I have ulcerative colitis so biopsies confirmed inflammation.

Hello can i ask what symptoms you had with UC?

It is absolutely normal and part of the procedure for biopsy’s to be taken. Try not to worry.

Hi. Don’t worry. I have had several biopsies taken over the years and nothing found wrong. Try not to worry - it’s normal procedure.

You could always telephone the hospital in about 10 days from the procedure to ask for the results. Saves waiting until your next appointment!

Don't worry. For reference I'm 20 and they took 16 biopsies from mine. It came back all clear apart from some microscopic inflammation.

Like many who have already responded, biopsies are completely normal during a colonoscopy. I had UC for nearly 40 years and probably 15+ colonoscopies during that time and biopsies were taken at every single one. Just helps with the ongoing diagnosis.

Hi! Don’t worry - I was the same as you and was so worried that biopsies had to be taken. Turned out I had very mild patchy non-specific inflammation. Try not to stress, normal part of the procedure.
