Hi all,had a colonoscopy yesterday early morning under mild sedation because of my copd, today I'm still feeling extremely weak and tired and shaky,is this the norm?? My anxiety is starting to raise as im of the understanding the sedation would only be in my system for 24 hours,am I wrong? Any help appreciated

It's normal to feel wiped out afterwards, the prep leaves you weak and dehydrated plus the sedation will have a knock on effect, it's only just over 24 hours so rest up, eat and drink sensibly and hopefully by tomorrow you will feel better.

May I ask how you are feeling today Sharice21? I am due for a colonoscopy with light sedation tomorrow and am so nervous. I don’t like feeling weak or shaky at all

Hi please dont worry I'm sure you'll be fine, not sure if my anxiety has taken over I ended up in A &E yesterday had lots of tests done all clear, but even today I feel dizzy and drugged up ,having issues eating so that's probably not helping but to ease your mindThe prep tastes vile but its drinkable ,the colonoscopy itself really wasnt worth worrying over It wasnt a traumatic event ,try not to stress I'm sure your going to be fine, please message me and let me know

Sorry to hear you are still feeling under the weather. I completely sympathize with the anxiety taking over. Hopefully things only get better from here for you. ❤️ I will keep in touch
