I was diagnosed with IBD in June 2018. 2 stool calprotectin tests were arranged. 1st result showed 400 in Sept and 2nd result showed about 700 in Nov. I am feeling perfect, no diarrhea and no bloody stool, able to run, exercise regularly, very shocked with the fc results. Anyone can advise the likely reasons for this increases?
I am currently Salofax and enema. I worry doc may switch me to Steroids and Immunomodulators which I understood there are severe side effects like loss of bone mass, insomnia, weaker immunity etc . Will appreciate some advices for those who did the switch and how one copes with it. Many thanks

Hi Akido, I was diagnosed in October, just went for th 2nd calprotectin test and waiting for results. Did you change your diet ? Are your stools soft ? Do you know where is located your Crohn's ? All of these can be factors, with stress, anxiety, etc.
Thay wanted to start me off on Pentasa right away but I asked for a second calprotectin test. I've completely eliminated gluten, sugar and diary . Did you as well ?
