Hi, I am new to this forum as I have been trying gain information after having a sudden acute terminal ileitis attack last month. I was absolutely fine the day before working out and doing a normal life. I ate something not fully prepared (pancakes that were runny or liquid ish) and started feeling unwell a few hours later with dhiarrea and stomach pain and cramps, as well as fever and tiredness. They thought I had appendicitis so they removed it and I started feeling better but after being discharged I started feeling unwell having cramps and abdominal pain and had to go hospital again, where they did CT Scan and stool test with calprotectin of over 3000! I was shocked because I never had any bowel issues apart from IBS and gastritis in the past and this was so sudden. I had an urgent colonoscopy and the result was that appearances and history are not typical of Chron but could be infection or complication after appendictomy. I feel much better now and my blood tests are all perfect, however I am very concerned and scared I might have Chrons as it came all of a sudden with no previous history or symptoms. They are going to do an endoscopy too. Anyone with a similar experience or information that can help me as I’m panicking and desperate for answers and my gastro team hasn’t been very helpful.
Thank you!

I may not be that helpful, I have Crohn's (not the end of the world) the problem for your Gastro Team, is that they cannot be particularly helpful, if no diagnostic signs (also many do not understand the fear we go through, with no info). The endoscopy may show them more, but the best part is, the longer you go with no more problems the better, I wish you good luck.
All I can say is with my CD symptoms and my mom with IBS changing our diet to The Specific Carbohydrate was the only way we are able to keep the symptoms to a very minimum. Pancakes ( white flour and sugar) is the worst for people with stomach and colon issues. Eating different is my lifestyle now. After 2 years one with CD can add some illegal food back into their diet as long as it’s a more healthy type of food. Like salad dressings, rice, potatoes.
